Stop the Pain of Break Up NOW Before It's Too Late!

What hobbies or places i can go to ease my mind off of her? Im trying to get my head right for finals next week but i keep on thinking of her…
and No getting back with her is not an choice so please dont say that.. thanks

Working out always helped me through breakups. Do something physical, like punch a punching bag, or ride a bicycle. I think that doing something that keeps you focused on the task at hand is the best.

Maybe after finals join a club, or volunteer. Doing something like that will help you meet new friends and keep your mind off your breakup.

But I don’t think that anyone can quickly recover from a relationship that meant a lot to them. If it was meaningful, then there will be pain. Just take things slow and be happy with yourself completely before you start dating again.

I love my husband very much and his reason was because we fight too much, but I think that is something that can be fixed and we could make our marriage better. I do not want to give up so soon. We have only been married for six months now. Please help on what I should do or say to him. Thanks

I agree. 5 months is silly. However, you both need to willing to work on it. Conseling is the only way to go. You both need to learn how to resolve things without fighting.

First of all he is a drug addict who got me hooked on the same drug. He stated that he wants to quit but that the only way he can do that is by coming home and getting away from his roommate who influnces him into doing cocaine and freebase. he also promise to be helpfull around the house and be more productive in our marriage….however all i have heard in the last 9 months is words but I have not seen any actions. How do i know that i can trust him again to get clean, be productive, loving, not controling, and trust in me.

first he should be willing to prove to u he is in therapy, he should keep u updated on his progress, words are cheap, and mean nothing without action. u don’t trust him to get clean if coming back home means enough to him he will be glad to do whatever it takes to get clean and prove to u beyond a doubt hes clean and right again. u really don’t need this bad influence in your life, and it will take hard work with both parties working towards it not just one. things are probably not working out so well with the new love and all the drugs.

2 nights ago my (ex)girlfriend of a year and 3 months broke it off with me, she says that she fell out of love with me and feels like a relationship is to stressful at the moment. shes 18, soon to be 19 and i am 21.
She told me that she wants to go on a break, but its also sort of a break up, she did not specifically say how it was going to work out, but she just doesnt want to see eachother or talk for a while so she can see where she is emotionally in a while..This is the hardest thing i have ever had to go through, before her my longest relationship was 3 months. I am still completely in love with her and it just hurts so horribley, I feel like crying every single 10 minutes of the day. I feel suicidal but I am not going to kill myself, or leave my family like that.

She texted me the night after which was really suprising, she just said "hey, i dont know why i texted you but i just wanted to say hey." and I just said "okay, well i didnt text you all day or night because i am giving you your space and time that you need" and she never texted me back after that, or the whole day yesterday either.. She sent a text to my friend saying "I have to get used to not texting him, im just used to doing that every night."

Anyway I dont know how to be hopeful, I would rather look at things the worst then for the better so i dont get my hopes up. It hurts so F***** bad, and just dont understand how she could do that, I mean the signs have been there for a while and i should have relalized.
She changed all her myspace and facebook status’s to single..even though we might only be on just a break, but like i said it really does feel like a breakup because she was never specific.

I’m just wondering if it seems like i should be hopeful, just give her space and not text or call her at all and just wait and see if she will do it. Like i said this is the hardest thing I have ever been through in my life..

don’t worry about it too much. if you’re hoping for the best and driving yourself suicidal because of this, its best to just let it go.
of course its not going to be easy, and i understand, but in time you’ll see that she’s just another girl, and it’ll take some time for you to heal, but don’t worry, everything will be ok :]
my opinion is that just leave it alone for now. if she wants to come back in the relationship, then she will. relax and spend more time with friends and don’t let her get in with your happiness.

He tried to say he may want to reduce the frequency. How should I understand it. He told me to sleep on it and let him know if I am open to him.
He had been seeing me 3x a week gave me xmas present on new year’s and spent all of new year’s day with me with no conflict – still had good sex. So he wasn’t even acting uninterested. I was surprised. On the call he said, we could go for a run together etc. When I asked if he was calling to say we should be friends. He said no (b/c he has a sexual attraction) and implied that is even better. Wow. I thought he liked me more than I did. He was making all the plans/efforts and even was planning a vacation with me which was his idea. This happened the day before our talk. How could he switch so fast?
The truth is he wasn’t perfect for me but since he made me feel good with all his compliments I went along with it. The sex was good though I have to admit. He was a giver in that regard. Maybe that’s all he is good for huh? He contacted me on Saturday, day after call, to tell me that he would have enjoyed getting to know other sides of me and also he would def miss the sex?!
I plan to start seeing other people ASAP. I would consider maybe sex one more time or as a option b/c I don’t have strong feelings for him and at least he was a giver when we had sex. Bad idea?

it means he wants to let you down slowly and/or he wants to keep his options open and still have you around.. move on.. don’t waste your time

Our breakup wasn’t pretty – it ended as a fight. I don’t think I completely got over her. I tried my best to forget about her, and just when I thought I did, she comes and talks to me again. Does she want to make up? Or does she just want to repair our friendship? Or try our relationship again? I don’t know how to act around her. What should I do if she asks me to get back together?

Maybe she wants to try dating again – or she might just feel bad about the way things ended and wants to clear everything. Either way, you’ve gotta give her a chance and hear her out. That’s just something that exes have to do for each other. Whether you broke up 7 months ago or 7 years ago, there’s still a connection between the two of you that lasts forever, and it means you have to be decent and polite to each other no matter how lousy your relationship was. As for what to do if she asks you back out: think long and hard about it right now, before the two of you meet up. Think about the good times you had, but think about the bad times even more. Me and my ex boyfriend haven’t seen each other since June of 2008. I missed him and of course went through the stage of missing him. We finally decided to see each other this past weekend and both of us know we still love each other. i just don’t know if i should try and work it out being that his friends seem more important right now..just need some advice.

this is pretty strange, considering my ex and i have the same issue… i haven’t seen him since june, we broke up in may… his friends are more important, and family also. his friends and family don’t like me at all anymore, and vice verse, so we’re waiting it out for awhile to see if it’s going to work.. i advise you to do the same thing. but if you really love him then time shouldn’t matter. you two are meant to be together, so do what you have to do.
