pros and cons of getting married before deployment?
My fiance is in the army. We have been together for three years, and this 3rd year have been engaged. Right now he is stationed in El Paso, TX while I’m still here in Michigan at school. Him and my father made an agreement, that after I finished college, he would feel better with us getting married. Well, my degree is around the corner, but also, so is his deployment. It’s not like we planned on getting married right before deployment or anything like that, but the lines have crossed between me about to finish school and him leaving in the winter months. What are the pros and cons of getting married before deployment, besides "he might come back different"? (I know that part) But I also know a lot of people do this, so any good-willed advice? Thanks (:
i’m not getting married for convinience. the plan was to always get married after I got out of school
I would wait until he gets back from his deployment, you have done the long distance relationship this long. You never know how they are going to return after a deployment or how you are going to be after a year of being a newlywed all alone for a year, you might resent him for it. You both do not need the pressure of starting your first year of marriage in this kind of situation, wait until he comes back, has dwell time for a year and have the wedding of your dreams.

I think the cons would be
He could die over there. He would be a different person and he might not like you after the deployment.
Pros I quess would be
He shouldn’t have to worry about you cheating on him and well that’s all I can think of
